WSCAI Chapter Luncheon

Chapter Luncheons are offered four times a year. They are open to all WSCAI members – homeowners, board members, managers, management company owners and businesses that service the community association industry. The events provide an opportunity for networking with peers, a delicious lunch prepared by the chef’s at Marriott Redmond Town Center and 45-60 minutes of industry-specific education.

Prior to each Luncheon, WSCAI offers a 30-minute New Member Orientation for all members who joined since the previous Luncheon. The Orientation is a brief introduction to WSCAI and allows attendees to meet Chapter Board and Committee Members.

Managing Your Costliest Operating Expense

The Puget Sound is a progressive region with strong environmental awareness. Nowhere are our environmental concerns more important than right at home in the communities we live in and manage. However, going green with one of your costliest service services, landscape management, can often result in financial or aesthetic compromises that divide boards and communities. Sustainable landscape management can bridge this divide by honoring all three supporting principles including Environment, Social, and Economic ideals. Negotiating potential pitfalls and creating awareness about sustainable practice options early through education and good communication can help you manage expense and unite communities instead.

Will Bailey is a Region Manager with Monarch Landscape Companies. Will has been in the commercial landscape industry for 27 years. After receiving his degree in Urban Forestry from the University of Washington he worked his way through all field production and managerial aspects of the industry to his current role as a partner and senior leader at Monarch. Will’s passion for sustainable landscape management and relationship building has made him an integral part of the landscape industry in Washington as a past President of the state landscape association WALP and roles on several leadership and certification boards in recent years.
