Insurance – How to Navigate Insurance in the Current Market
Join us to for this session where we will cover how community associations should approach property insurance in a cyclical insurance market. We will walk through topics like:
- Current market conditions and property insurance trends (rising deductibles, per-unit water damage deductibles, tightening RPG umbrella markets);
- How governing documents interact with deductible allocation between the association and unit owners' HO-6 policies;
- Building valuation/insurance-to-value, practical strategy for shopping the market (broker vs. captive agent, broker exclusivity rules), and
- A clear breakdown of what a board can and can't control
This course is approved by Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB) to fulfill continuing education requirements for the CMCA® certification.
