Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly valuable tool for community association professionals—but understanding its capabilities and limitations is critical. In this session we will discuss today's leading AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Claude, and similar tools, while exploring some hits and misses in the practical application for community management. Attendees will learn how AI can assist with things like:

  • drafting professional correspondence,
  • generating mailers and other materials for annual meetings,
  • summarizing meeting minutes,
  • enhancing community engagement and building community.

We will also address important legal and ethical considerations, including the risks of using AI with legal documents, confidential information, and attorney work product, along with recent examples of AI misuse in the legal profession. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of AI best practices for effectively incorporating AI into their daily workflows with greater confidence and professionalism.

This course is approved by Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB) to fulfill continuing education requirements for the CMCA® certification.
